The Role: 
As a Graduate Accountant, you will play a pivotal role within the business. Your responsibilities will span preparation of tax returns for individual and partnerships as well as preparation & lodgement of Business Activity Statements and Fringe Tax Benefits. You’ll collaborate closely with managers and Senior Accountants, contributing to the success of our practice. This foundational role offers opportunities for growth and learning as you build strong client relationships and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare individual tax returns, including rental schedules, sole traders, and entry-level capital gains tax.
  • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements and Fringe Benefits Tax returns.
  • Handle entry-level entity preparation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Review tasks thoroughly for accuracy before submission.
  • Adapt to changing tasks and circumstances.
  • Maintain professional, high-quality work following company procedures.
  • Meet workflow expectations and deadlines.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and professional service to clients.
  • Understand and meet clients' business needs and expectations.
  • Stay informed about the company’s broader service offerings.
  • Attend and participate in in-house and professional development training sessions.
  • Achieve annual CPD point requirements.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with managers and peers.
  • Engage in teamwork, participate in team activities, and promote a positive workplace culture.
About you:
  • Basic understanding of office practices, ATO guidelines, and tax laws.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Effective communicator with strong time management skills.
  • Team player, honest, with a good sense of humor.
  • Ability to collaborate and work independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proactive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships.

  • Recent or near completion of a degree in Accounting, Business, or Commerce.
